If an applicant is Pro-Rec N on the board, would obtaining a private pilots licenses result in a significant change to the applicant's package and therefore allow the applicant to resubmit and avoid the 6 month reapplication period?

I searched the forum and read up on how "helpful" the PPL is to the package but I could not find if the PPL results in a significant change.

As far as I know, yes. I was told that acquiring my instrument rating would be considered a significant change, so I'm sure gaining a PPL would as well.

I had like 5 flight hours total lol so that is probably why I did not get picked up for SNA. But, it could have been a number of other factors. I listed NFO as second choice, but was completely fine with either. My guess is decent flight hours will increase your chances.

I'm positive it was that as well, sir. In the end, becoming an officer was my ultimate goal.

But in another thread Rufio181 posted that the dates are 10/8 and 10/29, so if you're shooting for October you'll land one of those dates.

My recruiter told me "expect an October OCS date" but I don't have my Final Section Letter yet. I was Prorec Y NFO.

We all probably will be in the same class lol and more than likely the October 8th class which would be a fantastic birthday present.

well if they put me on the aug 27th class I should be graduating 12 weeks later Nov 19th (my bday) which would be an even better bday present LOL. but I need work on my swim and run so a later class is even better

Awesome! Working my release date to be the 2nd so that id be fine with either of those dates!
