1Nov2021 SNA/SNFO Board

amf0229

Pro Rec Y SNFO
Nah this seems new, this guy is saying that the May and Aug 22 boards were also cancelled along with the Jan board. check out the thread I pulled it from.
As far as we have seen November is the last board for FY22. If the May and August board are being cancelled as well I’ll believe it when I see a new calendar come out. I only say that cause for as much great and useful things as I have gotten from AW, there’s also been a lot of bullshit and false conclusions drawn. All I can hope is that if they did cancel the May and August board, maybe that means that they ended up selecting more from this board for FY23 since we already had our applications in. Maybe we were just too fucking good to pass up and they had to select more of us than they anticipated. Lol. It sucks all the way around, I’m just hoping for the best for everyone! Which I know is unrealistic but hey.

I genuinely believe we will see just as many if not more SNA / SNFO Selects this board. I think the caveat to it will be don't expect your OCS date to be any time soon. Late 22' and in to 23' would probably be the earliest. As mentioned before, I believe the only thing for them to do is continue to push the problem down the road. Airlines are hiring, and people are getting out to go a different route. Keep your heads up, if you don't get selected this go keep applying.

I would be happy with a ‘23 ship date. Hell, I’d even be okay with a ‘24 date ??

If not selected this board, do you have to retake the ASTB or make other changes to the packet in order to resubmit? Or, can you resubmit with the same stats?

In order to reapply within the 6 month wait time, you have to have a "significant change" to your package. That can be ASTB, Leadership experience, Flight Hours, and a few other things. Don't quote me on it but I think it's something along those lines.

No he’s not saying that. The Navy picks for the upcoming fiscal year. The last FY22 board was supposed to be January which was cancelled. May and August boards, although they are calendar year 2022, are FY23 boards and are not cancelled.

our only good rumor right now is that the Nov board is taking some FY23 spots.

EDIT: the rumor mill, here and in the actual Navy, is great entertainment. It’s not usually much else. Until it’s in writing, it’s not credible. Even then it can change pretty quickly!

More selects on this board would not make sense, the goal is to get people to ship within 6 months of selection and they just pushed close to 150 SNA selects to FY 23, they next FY selects (FY 23) are based on current FY goals (FY 22), that close to 150 being pushed is over half of the FY 22 shipping goal, that could result in future SNA/SNFO boards being cancelled or reduced selections in order for NRC to get back on the normal cycle.

So how do you expect our Pro-Rec-Ys to be apportioned (over FY22/23)? Six months from now would be May, does that sound about right for us?

I’m primarily worried about how long we could end up waiting. The Aug board Pro-Rec-Ys are looking at 1 year now! Any chance we get dates before them?

I'm also curious on something my recruiter can answer but I don't want to bother him until after results are posted. For those of us that are not selected on this board, considering the next board convene date is over 6 months from Nov 1, will we still need a "considerable improvement" to our package to submit to May board, or is it possible to roll with the same scores, GPA, etc?

Man don't be in here throwing around crap like they're cancelling the May and August boards for next year! I know the odds of that being true are very low but you're going to give me a heart attack. I literally have no freaking idea what I would do with my life for the next 2 years (and beyond) if that was true. geesh lol

normally it is on the dashboard, but for SNA it isn't clear and that is odd.

the wait could be substantial as people are generally sent in order of board, some are not due to listing a specific date in the "date available" block.

the worst I saw was several years ago when SWO had issues, some waiting a year, or when IWC didn't go by the parameters NRC gave them and some had to wait close to 2 years but that is a small designator and it was a large mistake.
