1Nov2021 SNA/SNFO Board

I know there was an immediate select board going on to make up for the pilot shortage, I was banking on that until I get medically cleared on December 3rd. Unfortunately that selection board got cancelled cuz they got a shit ton of applicants so I have to wait for the next round. Maybe this is why your recruiter got confused
Do you know when the next immediate select board is?

Is there some kind of difference between a regular board and “immediate select board”?
Immediate select boards have occurred in the past and existed so that if an outstanding candidate was submitted they could be approved separate from the regular board dates (ie:immediately) to help with pilot shortages. I’ve found it’s kind of an urban legend on this site with @exNavyOffRec saying one hasn’t been done in years and that they don’t do them anymore. Wouldn’t get your hopes up.

He said the board was pushed to Monday November 21st, and to not expect final results until at the earliest right before Christmas but more likely January. He mentioned that another applicant was pushed from a March class date to January so don’t expect to ship for a full year. Love my recruiter but I’m hoping and thinking that he confused Nov21 as the November 1st 2021 board date rather than November 21st 2021 but he was pretty adamant that it was pushed to the 21st. From everything on this site I think he made a simple mistake but hoping @exNavyOffRec or someone else can double check me on this because January is feeling very far away.

When I finished my ASTB my recruiter was talking about a special board but over the months they walked it back that it was either not coming up soon, unavailable, or never existed. So urban legend sounds about right :p

So when exactly are we saying this immediate pilot board will convene, Nov21st or has it already??? If I understand it correctly, its purpose is to “immediately” Pro-Rec-Y SNA/SNFOs to correct shortages?

Is this then the only shot left for all 301 FY22/23 hopefuls then?

@exNavyOffRec, we need you! Everyone contact your ORs to confirm or deny this hearsay.

Lol y’all are hilarious on this forum. I would never beilieve the board got pushed to nov21. There would be an update to the board schedule to reflect. Also that late of results would put me in a fucked up situation. I transfer and begin c-school january3. I’m sticking with results next week. Dec3 at the latest

Those went away a while ago and there never has been a pilot shortage with accessions.

There is no Monday Nov 21st, unless somebody changed a calendar for the world.

I doubt it was pushed to the 21st. The 21st is the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I think it happened like normal on the 1st of this month and NRC is still doing the paperwork and OCS scheduling side of it. We’ll get the results soon.
