Here's my 2nd unsubstantiated prediction of the day: Nov1 results take 6 weeks. If previous boards were 100-150 candidates and took ~3 weeks then 300 candidates should take 6-9weeks. Yup while we're at it lets just say 9 weeks ?

Overselect for the Nov 1st board might not be the right word. In the past, when they had too many applicants, they capped the # of packages reviewed at that board. The packages not reviewed were pushed to the next board.
They did this in first come first serve basis.

Getting pushed from Nov to May board would be pretty rough.
