Not to be pessimistic or anything but if war, I.e. a continuation of china’s civil war, is physically reinvigorated. I do not believe we will contribute anymore than words of encouragement.

I believe our politicians and allies will look to lose Taiwan verses potentially 100s of millions of lives. We also have to look at the legitimacy of the case China holds. China will call upon the U.N. to respect their power of 5 status that gives them control over U.N. Intervention.

Not to mention, only 14 nations acknowledge Taiwan’s independence… and we ain’t one of them. If we really supported Taiwan then we would have at least let them participate in the Olympics and not through the Olympic committee.

Edit: I, unequivocally, support Taiwan but it is a ticking time bomb that China will eventually move on and reclaim.

@Navy21 posts one well-constructed and thoughtful piece of critique of a serious issue and the whole of Zuckerberg’s ARPANET crashes.

Bravo Zulu.

I got word from Paul Celestin almost three weeks ago saying that my package is in process for board consideration but must successfully pass the medical screening prior to the application proceeding to board review. I have yet to hear anything back. Has anyone gotten an email or anything from Paul stating that their medical portion has been approved?

Same. I got mine the day after. Call him. Sometimes he pushes stuff through but forgets to send because he’s extremely busy. There is a good chance your stuff is good he just didn’t let you know? I’ve had to reach out to him multiple times for confirmation of receipt of certain things.

Hopefully that is the case. I will reach out to him tomorrow

Hey everyone! Just got word today this board has been pushed 1 month to December 1st. Anyone else hear the same? I submitted for NFO, best of luck to everyone!

Paul just replied to my email and stated that I have been found medically qualified and my package has been forwarded to the next board that convenes on 01 November. So I would say that December rumor is false.

So, for clarification, is was or was not pushed?
If a board is pushed by NRC it would be moved to a new date that starts on a Monday, if the Senior board member said they cannot hold the board at that time then the info would be sent to the board members and they would hold it when they could, but the only ones that would know that would be the board and the Director of OCS accessions, recruiters would only find out after the fact.

The most recent dashboard still had Nov, and NRC has a bad habit of cancelling Dec boards, so it seems unlikely.

Now if they info was the board was pushed to Dec 6th that would be more plausible as that is a Monday and falls in line with what NRC has done when a board has been moved, but it is very rare for aviation boards to get moved, often it is done for other designators when spots become few and far between. It is more likely for a board to be outright cancelled than moved.

Can someone please explain the process to me? Assuming the board convenes on November 1 as scheduled, when would we be notified if we are selected? Do you get a Pro Rec Y and know before the actual results get posted?

Sorry if this has already been asked haha. I'm just a little confused.

Once the board convenes nov 1 it will likely take 8-42 days until the official results are released and you find out whether you got a pro rec y. People are also waiting for something called the “at board list” that basically is a list of all the people who are being considered for this board. If you submitted close to the September 17th deadline there’s the chance you won’t make the at board list which means your application is pushed to the next board. The at board list could come out any day now.
