Just look at the cans on that brown cartoon chick! Oh, sorry, that was unprofessional and insensitive of me. :D

Dude, I'm thinking that's all harness and not much "cartoon chick..."

I love it. The rest of the world keeps saying how big a step this is forward for women's rights (or whatever), and all we're talking about is whether or not we'd bang the pilot. I'm not being sarcastic or anything, I think this is f*cking hilarious...this should be the new litmus test for whether someone has the stuff to be a Naval Aviator - "What were your first thoughts when you saw the photo of the female Thunderbird?" If they say anything about women's rights or equality, they have to go Air Force.

Agreed! I love it how it took just a couple posts for this thread to degenerate into a "hot or not" discussion. You can all consider yourselves counseled! ;) BTW, it's only a matter of time before some enterprising Photoshop jockey turns that pic into some really disturbing porn, wrong and unprofessional as that would be. :D

So...many...joke...possibilities...can't...take it...head swelling...can't see...straight...

I don't know how exactly to work this, but I bet we can combine someone's photoshop skills and some publicity stunt into blackmailing the DoD into supplying the Navy/Marines with some Raptors. Not saying we should. Not saying it's the right thing to do. Not saying it wouldn't be a gross misuse on influence. Just putting it out there...

In all seriousness, I'm never sure how to feel when a woman breaks ground into a traditionally male community - this question comes up all the time regarding combat, especially with recent legislation. My "con" is not so much the competence of the woman (the will always be some who do measure through prodigious talent and/or effort) or the sometimes inevitable relaxing of standards, but the effect on morale and the community. Men relate differently to one another when a woman is present than when alone - how would this affect the bonding of the community, and in turn the competence of the group? To me, THIS is the question that needs to be asked, not whether or not the woman in question can hack it or not.
