I lost both my parents in the last 3 years. Their health declined at an amazing rate the last 5 years of their lives. That fact along with the sad passing of friends, colleagues, and seeing others that I thought were healthy and vibrant all of the sudden become burdened with chronic disease really brings you to reality that the best laid plans are worthless. Live, love, and enjoy the present. Delayed gratification is a virtue for the young. Its meaningless as you age.
Also despite how long you think you will live, what matters is how long you will live in good health and able to experience the world and others you care about.
Spend every dime you have on enjoying life and sharing it with people you care about.
