Same. I submitted my package in January and my recruiter said the same for the IP push.
My recruiter:
"........Your profile and others who were at board don't show a Pro No and instead show a pro board requested status meaning you're going to the next board and honestly that board says 11 August but I can see them just convening one out of no where maybe even July"

Yeah well, I’m just assuming no news is good news. I’m just happy that I had a recruiter who was willing to help me push in a packet. I’m not holding my breath too much as I understand IWC is extremely competitive. I’m just focusing on what I can control in life. Hopefully they don’t give me a No-DNR.

Well, tomorrow is one week since the board convened. If results are not out this week, they would probably be published after the holiday.
Bee waiting for it since my deployment last year (had to take care of things, which delayed my submission by almost 9 months). I know how you feel.

My recruiter told me he had no information on whether only fleet applicants was considered for this board. I also asked if my package was at board but no response. Maybe he was busy.

Anyway, what I heard when I submitted my kit back this Feb was that IP has a lot of push and expect to ship out in July if selected. Time will tell I guess.

I’m just lifting weights, training MMA, and building up new projects at work to keep me occupied. LOL..

Navy is looking to fill/overfill IP slots which isn’t anything new. From what I’ve heard from current IPs is that O1-O3 is overmanned but O4 and above is undermanned.

My OR told me IP is in high demand right now if I "fully qualify".
Reading from online sources it sounds like it's nothing new as MrV mentioned above.
Regardless, he seemed to be eagerly enthusiastic in submitting my kit early as I finished everything he needed promptly.

Navy is looking to fill/overfill IP slots which isn’t anything new. From what I’ve heard from current IPs is that O1-O3 is overmanned but O4 and above is undermanned.

NRC over-selects, and then they over-ship to OCS based on attrition through the pipeline, this is standard procedure.

Manning at O-4, or O-1 to O-3 will have not bearing on how many they select since officer grades are by YG.

It sounds like you are trying to apply enlisted manning processes to officer manning processes which is common for those that are or have been prior enlisted.

Since we are all talking about IP now, trying to steer away from the dreaded waiting, does anyone know exactly what IP Officers do? I talked to my recruiter about it and he said there ain’t much to find in it bc it is top secret stuff. However, does anyone know how choosing your first station goes after the 20 week course in dam neck, Virginia?

That's a really broad question, so this AI summary should suffice just fine. I'm a prior Navy IT and currently work as an IT equivalent for the Navy so the summary may not be all inclusive and can be very difficult to really imagine the day to day as an IP officer if you've never experienced that world. However, I'm sure there are many other active duty IT' applicants here that could answer your questions better than I could. Especially if they are stationed afloat or work at a joint command of sorts.

I haven't heard anything yet - I plan to check in with my recruiter tomorrow or Wednesday, but I've been operating with the "no news is good news" mindset. All the positive thoughts/vibes!!

If IP is under-mannded at the O-4 level, they will get those primarily from lateral transfer or indefinite recall (i.e. 1825 to 1820), not OCS.

It’s undermanned because the private sector pays better and offers a better work life balance. Service obligation for OCS grads means most active duty IPs get out at junior LT if they know they don’t want to do 20. Lateral transfers to IP at O3/O4 tend to be low due to IPBC length (for their PQS). A couple years ago, the reserves started offering constructive entry credit to start out DIRCOM officers who have significant prior work experience at LTJG or LT, in hopes of retaining them longer into O4 (e.g. non priors who want to do 10 years for GI Bill for dependents). YMMV

I’m not certain that reserve IP is undermanned at O5/O6. I think their promotion rates are still less than 100% for the those ranks. I’d have to look.
