I thought it blew. It is way too predictable anymore and it is ridiculous what happened in the end.

Yea, dissapointed. The best part was the "preview" ("You don't know Jack") of next season during the credits. I just want to watch Jack torture and shoot terrorists.

Got the call to go drink my buddy off to flight school last night and had to leave halfway through...what happened in the end?

*** SPOILERS ****

The nuclear missile is shot down before it detonates over Los Angeles.

The Chinese learn that Jack Bauer is responsible for the raid on the embassy and want him turned over to them so he can be tried in a Chinese prison.

The President knows this could be very bad for the country because they will most likely torture and squeeze information out of Jack. He turns a blind eye to murdering Jack Bauer. A Secret Service agent is tasked to pick him up at CTU and kill him. Jack finds out from former President Palmer and stages an escape from CTU before being captured. Jack is killed in an exchange of gunfire with the Secret Service agent. Uh oh, he's not really dead. He is revived with steroids (I'm guessing he took some sort of drug to make it appear he is dead) and escapes with the aid of Tony and his wife. There will be a new season of 24. Audrey does not know Jack is alive. She is under the impression that he is dead. She falls apart.

Did I miss anything?

I read somewhere that it was signed on for two more seasons.

Also, did anyonw hear them say something about calling in the Air Force and then they send a Hornet to shoot the missle down...

I enjoyed it though. It would have been nice to see him bust outta some chinese prison next year...

As a 24 viewer since day one (including getting recorded DVDs on cruise my cruises)... Worst...24....ever. Basically for all the reasons above. My DVR missed the credits, so I was wondering if they were coming back. I guess that's good.

You know, I was kinda waiting to see if they'd actually detonate the nuke. How pissed off would viewers be then! They'd want a nice boxed happy ending.... instead they'd get a complete disaster.

You know, I said the same thing.. 'that looks an awful lot like a hornet'..

Bottom line, the show was entertaining - which is more than can be said for lots of other stuff on television.

Must've been one of those same Air Force hornets which blew up Alcatraz...

But don't you see? We did that already in Season 2 (the best season, IMO). Other than the "direct" questioning Jack would always do, it just wasn't that new and interesting. Then again, it was 24 hours of free entertainment, so it can't be all bad.

After seeing the final episodes, I wonder if the writers truly believed this would go another 2 seasons. Jack disappears across the border, dead to everyone he knew. It wouldn't have been a bad way to end a tremendous series. My problem with two more seasons is this - how many more bad days can a guy have before he freaks out? For that matter, how many more crises can the good 'ol US of A handle? There is a lot of merit in quitting while you are ahead.

As a side note - Vice President whats-his-face was a total douche bag.
