24MAY2021 Pilot/NFO Board

elariosa95

SNA (Primary - VT-6)
Quick question: so I applied for both the AMDO and NFO boards. AMDO board convened last Friday (04/23) and my recruiter said those results should come out this week at the earliest. I apologize if this has been asked elsewhere, but in the event that I get picked for an AMDO slot, is there a deadline/time limit for accepting the offer?

My main concern is that I'll be railroaded into making a decision before the NFO board convenes next month; my recruiter has assured me that I won't have to decide until after the NFO board but I wanted to see if anyone else is/was in a similar position. I'll be ecstatic if I get picked up for one or the other, but I'd like to at least have a choice in the matter if I'm able to. Again, sorry if I sound like I'm being picky/unappreciative of this opportunity, I just want to make the right decision if the time comes.

If you put NFO as your first choice, then you should be okay to wait until getting that result.....if AMDO is first...well then...... hang on tight honey, cuz Kansas, is going bye bye

I am kind of in a similar position. I submitted my package for SNFO for the May board and submitting for SNA in August. Would be happy if I ended up with either opportunities, but as far as having to decline one to submit the other or waiting for your NFO results before you accept/decline AMDO spot, I have no idea how it works. My OR just told me that I can submit a package for SNA in August as well.

The difference is the other person had AMDO and NFO on the same application. In your situation they will probably reject your SNA application without having SNFO declined.

Yeah true. I think what I’m going to do is accept NFO if I end up with a Prorec Y this board, and if not, apply SNA for August board..

I had a similar situation with SWO and NFO, first board was SWO, I got selected, at that time the SWO designation was attached to my name, in order to go to board for NFO, had to send a letter declining SWO. ( both on same application) but I also had the recruiter from he** so who knows

sounds like he listed SWO as your first choice

What’s the deal with tattoos? Would it be a bad idea to get one before going into OCS? Or does it really not matter?

Sadly one of the forms you signed stated that you wouldn’t get any new “body modifications” before OCS which includes tattoos. I’ve wanted a new one for so long but I guess we’ll be waiting
