From my understanding a lot of these well qualified apps were for SNA only not NFO...

idk i applied to both and there’s a couple guys with better numbers than me that did too. I feel like i have pretty good numbers.

So if I’m reading the GENOFF correctly, the “designator is closed, applicants will be pushed to next FY” means new applications won’t be accepted till this coming Octoberish? Sorry, it hard for me to make sense of that spreadsheet lol

Correct. No new apps until new FY.

Potentially. I assumed that everyone had SNA as first choice. Thats why I added a margin of error for 5%. Not saying it is gold. It is a rough ballpark.

I think the way exNavyOffRec described it was they would still select SNA for this board but selected applicants would pretty much fill FY22 slots for SNA. So if you back date that 3 months because of OCS that means at the earliest you'd receive July dates if I recall. The NFO pipeline is still green so everything is working like normal for NFO.

Simply put, no. But it can help if you know how to appeal to the military/board because of experience, but at the end of the day they're going to pick who they think is best regardless of military service. You have to translate and quantify your prior service into your motivational statement or else IMO it really doesn't give you a leg up.
