Hey don’t shoot the messenger! I was just saying my recruiter told me that the pentagon sent out to the recruiters that they are getting done with the boards by thanksgiving
I thought the Pentagon thing was a joke, I really hope your recruiter was just screwing with you, otherwise it is showing he has zero clue.

The only one who knows when results will get released is the person who gives the OK to release once all the admin items are done, even the person who gives that OK won't know they are ready until given to him, or her.

It shouldn’t take this long for the results to come out. This is playing with people’s time, I am 26 and don’t appreciate this game they have us playing to find out. I was told about 2 week and at this we will never find out

The actual board takes a day for most designators with Supply, IWC, and CEC maybe taking 2 days if they have a ton of applicants.

The standard answer given is 2-10 weeks, prior to NRC needing to assign OCS dates if the board happened on a Monday the results would be out in 1-2 weeks.

Now that OCS dates need to be assigned prior to results being released there is a lot of admin work that has to happen including verifying earliest date available, making sure the person isn't processed for another designator, which OCS class has space and does that timeline work with any follow in schools. The processors not only do this for each OCS board, but also the DCO boards, work on ensuring backgrounds are done, making sure all documents are received to send people to OCS, get plane tickets for candidates, work on medical document submissions, and many more items.

This has resulted in the time to release getting longer and longer, honestly getting results in less than 4-6 weeks would be quick.

4-6weeks to find out if selected or not is way to long. Then the people who aren’t selected wasted 3-4 months of time. Meps, building the packet, and more processing just to get on the board. This is why military recruitment is so down they need to simply the process. I really need to know this week . They should have soldiers doing the processing not civilians. I know if we don’t find out tomorrow it’s gonna take another 2 weeks or so. No chance we find out after tomorrow everyone is gonna be traveling for thanksgiving

It really isn't as this is a normal process that involves many moving parts. There are boards that only happen once or twice per year, those people have to wait up to a year and some of those will get denied and try again. The process for USAF, USMC, USCG is generally much longer, not sure about the US Army as they do things a bit different.

Putting the application together takes no time at all for a designator like SWO, it can be done in just a few hours if a person has access to a few key documents, I know as I had candidates who would come in to take their OAR in the morning then put their application together in my office right after.

The military is a lot of waiting. You should get used to it now.

Hiring for civilian positions that are halfway decent and require more than a simple background check can take quite a bit of time too. Just the background checks can take 3 weeks and this is after the hiring process which can take weeks which includes the initial review, and then a few rounds of interviews.

Wednesday would be on the table still. Just because they are civilians doesn’t mean they make their own schedule, they still have the same schedule as the military members and our vacation doesn’t start until Thursday.

I just texted a buddy yesterday in the Air Force who told me he was putting in his package for commissioning (this was may 2024), and he said he can't even submit his package until May of 2025... I'll taking waiting a few weeks longer than I thought any day over that.

They have a set number of hours per week, I think most of our civilians worked 0730-1600 with 30 min for lunch, a few started earlier so they could be working the same hours as NRC to keep the work going.

Remember the civilians unlike military can take time off by the hour instead of by the day, I would say the odds of hearing past noon NRC time is low.

Is it true that SWO and Supply are usually faster with their results than Aviation like Pilot and NFO?

The boards all take about the same time, Aviation and SWO normally take a day, others can take a couple, the rest of the time it doesn't matter the designator the admin work is all the same, random other factors can affect the timing but that can be true for any designator.
