My recruiter mentioned they recently received a memo needing Cyber officers and anyone who is remotely qualified should put in an application. He mentioned the Cyber Warfare Officer is different from the Cyber Warfare Engineer, though I can't find any information on CWO.

I suppose we will find out in a few days if any of this is true.

From what I know about CWE because it's the first thing I was looking into, it's a 5 year active duty commitment to Fort Meade in Maryland. You'll generally be a software dev in the security sphere. Anyone I asked said there isn't much (or any) ship time or relocation so it's stable. I was also told past ~6 years, you need to lateral transfer or get out of the Navy, but you'd have to confirm that. It's also absurdly competitive as it's a very tiny community.

PS: CWO stands for Cryptologic Warfare Officer. ;)
