Saw a slideshow on the BBC news website about the new 747-8. I looked it up in Google and found a really slick Boeing site with some really nice graphics. It looks like they are incorporating some of the design features of the 787 and adding them to the basic 747 design. What do the airline guys think?

In other news, Airbus has not been doing so well lately. BAE is trying to get out, the Co-Chairman resigns, the A350 design is back on the drawing board for not being as revolutionary as the 787, Singapore Airlines (which had said it would wait for the new A350 design) orders the 787 and the A380 is delayed.

Why take pleasure in the troubles of a aircraft maker? Well, it does involve the French :D , but they also have been exceedingly arrogant when they constantly trumpet their 'victories' over Boeing and gloat on them constantly. That, and I read enough at work that just makes me more pissed off :icon_rage . Lets just say that they don't play fair when it comes to the international airliner market.

At Farnborough, Airbus is rumored to announce an A370 to take on both the 787 and 777. So Airbus is basically saying the A350 sucks and their knee-jerk reaction to the 787 is costing them. Interesting times indeed for Airbus...

Maybe A4's can answer this for me. One of the guys I worked with, his father is a pilot for NW (and a former P-3er) and he has little good to say about the 747. Specifically he says the cockpit is loud due to the airflow over the nose because of the hump design. He's fan of Airbus planes. Is this true? is it really all that loud up there?

Speaking of Farnborough, is anybody going to be there? I've been taking classes in oxford most the summer so i'll surely be there. Saturday to be exact and I can't wait. Will be sweet to see some of the foreign fighters that I never see at american shows

Is the 747-800 the same as the 747 advanced. I knew they already had an upgraded freight version out is this it? I hope this kicks Airbus in the proverbial ball sack. Why? Because it's the American thing to do:D

Well I think Airbus maybe kicking themselves in the proverbial ball sack with their own A380 being delayed twice and having production problems with the wing.
