No Excuses!
However, I've heard stories of how some duty sergeant instructors and platoon sergeants being anal about staying in the rack!
But regardless, there ARE NO EXCUSES in OCS for being behind. You either find a way to catch up, or it'll take days for your ass to catch up with you when you're shipped home!
BS is right! After lights out, we are required to lay down in the rack for 15 to 30 minutes. After that, we were "allowed" to square away anything we needed, to include studying. I think technically, we weren't allowed to stay up, but our OCS staff knew that during the day, that it's humanly impossible to be caught up on everything outside of periods of instruction. So they left us alone thirty minutes after lights out.FlyingFortress said:This guy's brother said that he was unaware that you could study at night, thus he was never prepared for the next morning's test. Don't you think you would notice the rest of your fellow candidates staying up late and studying? I don't think I am going to buy his excuse. I'm gonna raise the BS flag on his story and say he got kicked out or he dropped on his own.
