That's why they didn't let NFOs fly if they had less than perfect vision.

Ha! I'm worse that that
I was the guy with 20/10 vision who accepted NFO orders to AOCS because the recruiter told me "as long as you have good vision, you can change when you get to P'cola" (!!)
that was the first of many 'good deals'....
