Age Waiver Clarification

Greetings,

I am literally days away from being able to actually submit my package to Millington. I am hung up on one thing that I cannot seem to clarify. AD guys, perhaps you can help me out here. I am currently 26, but enlisted active duty. I turn 27 next month.

Program Auth States:

"For applicants with prior active duty military service, waivers must be granted on a month-to-month basis up to 24 months for active duty served prior to their 27th birthday, to a maximum age of 29."

What exactly does month-to-month basis mean? Do I need to get an age waiver for my package? If yes, is there a template or form that I should use for the formal request? how far will this set me back, weeks, months? I was hoping to get this thing out next week.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure if you'll need a waiver but it's really not hard to get just contact the OCM for the community you are applying to and they will ask further information from you and Draft up your age waiver.

Crewguy02,

Thank you for your help. For those curious about the process, contact your OCM, give him your DOB, and AD Service date. He will email you the waiver. I had my waiver about 3 hours later as a PDF signed, dated and good to go. This is for Active Duty.

Aviation just made some changes to age waiver so make sure you send it to the correct folks. Feel free to pm me with what you were told so I can verify. It would suck to age out because some new rule that hardly anyone knows about.

I am curious as well. Nothing was said when I spoke to OCM over the phone about any kind of change.

you should email him or her and let them know the situation. He/She should draft you up an waiver and email it to you.

What is the likelihood of having an age waiver granted? I am prior service and applying for SNFO. I recently turned 28 and was pro rec Y on the February board.

Thanks in advance.
