Hello all,
I always had a passion for aviation and wanted to be an AT or AW like my dad, uncle, and grandpa, but do to the needs of the Navy ended up as a Nuke ET Submariner. Now I'm out and finishing an engineering program in college, and am highly intrigued by some brochures the officer recruiter was passing out. There is a direct commission program for Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer and Aviation Maintenance Duty Officers. (He said you pretty much need a MS in Engineering to apply for AEDO.)
What exactly do “greenshirts” do? If you are an AMDO and you finish a MS in Engineering, can you laterally transfer to Aviation Engineering Duty Officer?
Thanks for any experiences and inputs
