Believe about 2% of what you "hear" happened. The only true source of info is a privileged mishap report, any eyewitness or a Jag investigation which is available to the public.

Sometimes mishaps stories become the stuff of urban legends...

I knew this guy once that....

What would, actually bailing out or the "practice runs". It was usually a good sign on your checkrides, 9 times out of 10 meant all you had left was your low work.

The actual bail-out. Being part of the crew would suck bailing out, being the PPC that gets to run to the back with no one flying, that would REALLY suck.
