- Hey. Nasty. "Dude are you serious???"
Well then, get out and write a letter to Proceedings as to why you got out. Make your statement. Once you get to the other side, you'll have to deal with it out here. At least you don't have to salute the dumbasses that tell you to like it. The whole world has gone nuts. I just completed active shooter, sexual harassment and business ethics quarterly training tacked on to my other required training. Run hide, fight, and uh, don't tell a woman she looks good in a dress, and don't bribe customers. I'm a commercial pilot now. Not sure when I have time to bribe anyone other than my F/O for his catering selection. I fly with few women and they're my age. I'm too old for that crap. Active shooter? I've got 13 rounds of Federal HST ready for that, plus two reloads.
All of this training crap is not relevant to me just as it wasnt in my last month in the Navy I was on the 6th deck, in the stifling ammo lockers, with 500 of my fellow Air Department friends getting lectured on sexual harassment - on a ship with no women.
It may be worse now than 20 plus years ago. I admire you guys and gals for putting up with it. Clinton - Obama - same shit, different sandwich. Do your job and deal with it or get out. We need pilots, the more Navy the better. Yup, we still give the exUSAF guys crap. Even they get it. If Hillary wins, it is going to get even worse. The world has lost its mind. So far, aviation still self selects for a certain type of person. Our new hire classes are boringly similar. Guys and gals who like to shoot, hunt, ride Harley's, fly their planes, run Spartan races, work on their hot-rods, raise tons of kids, etc, etc. Very similar personalities. Just a sprinkling of Democrats, but they take the ribbing well.
Seriously. Get out and write a letter (never an email that can easily be forwarded) to your detailer or OP-05 (if that is who the DCNO Air Warfare is now) delineating how NAVAIR has let its pilot's down. Come on in, the water's fine.
