Anthro Remeasurement

And one other thing, what was everyone talking about a "draft?" I've never heard about this before.

A draft is a big scary term for a perfectly normal occurance.

If there are a disproportionate number of slots for a certain community, people call it a "draft." When I was selecting in Primary, there was a helo draft for the Navy and a jet draft for the Marines. This means there were Navy guys that didn't want helos who had to fill those slots anyway. Likewise, there were Marines that didn't want jets who had to fill those slots.

Drafts come and go with great frequency and little predictability. The only thing that seem fairly consistent is that there hasn't been a Navy jet draft for quite a while.

Also, just because there is a draft on doesn't mean your squadron won't make an attempt to put you somewhere you want to be. You might not get your first choice, but they will do what they can to accommodate you. Be assured, though, the Navy (or Marine Corps, etc) ALWAYS fills the slots it needs.

I am also in the same boat. I have been blocked from the jet community and the E-2 C-2 community because i am .15" too tall for the t-45. So unless i can get a remeasurement it looks like P-3's or 53's for me. It just stinks that im not blocked from any of the fleet aircraft just the one training aircraft that allows me to train for them.

yeah apparently 8.8 pounds heavy for those. Im thinking thats easier to fix and ive got some time between now and platform selection.

I can honestly say I didn't know the Navy had a weight standard for aircraft. It makes sense with the Weight and Balance and CG stuff I guess..

The Anthro sheet didnt say that i was DQ'd from anything because of my weight it just says i am X amount of pounds over. So i dont know if that disqualifies me or if i just need to sign a waiver. I think ill just lose the weight and make it a non-issue.

I don't know how NOMI does it for incoming studs, but the weight limits for the seat in my jet are advisory in nature. There's a waiver you sign if you are heavier or lighter than the prefered weight range that basically states you might be injured by the seat if you punch.

I'm too heavy for every ejection seat aircraft in the Navy... too bad I'm currently backseat driving one... Bigger people than I have safely ejected... the concern is that with my 230# frame, the seats no longer "0/0"

From my understanding, the weight issue for ejection seat equipped A/C is the "safe ejection" envelope, which decreases in size when you're over (or under) a certain weight. Don't know what the weight issue is about for helos though.

The overweight for 60's will not bar you from them. I am out of anthros for them, and fly anyways.

The Th57 may not be happy depending on how heavy you are.

Anyone know if they actually get in the cockpit (T-45) and see if you fit? I mean... .15" i could theoretically get in the cockpit and be "comfortable"

Nowadays, no. Unless, like you said, you have someone fighting the fight for you. I have no idea why the weight would matter for helos. Never heard that one before.
