No, I haven't. The website still says, "No decision has been made on your application." The wait continues...

NROTC Application

I am looking for some help. I am finishing up my on-line application and wanted to see if I could get some feedback.

1. Are the four people that you list as references contacted by the local recruiter for the recommendations? Are these recommendations entered on-line by these people?

2. Can I submit actual letters of recommendations and use existing letters that i have used for other applications?

3. Do you need to have your ACT/SAT scores sent by the testing companies or does NROTC accept scores included with your transcripts?

Any help will be appreciated.

The recruiter should give you forms for each of the recommendations, and you should give them to your references.

The forms still have to be filled out, but there is also a section where the reference can write what they want, and can use the existing letter(just make sure its not made out to another univerity or program!)

The scores should be sent directly from the company (at least thats what I had to do).

Your recruiter is the best source for information, mine was a really big help in going through the application process.

Thanks for the reply. I received a call last night and have my interview scheduled for this afternoon. I'll make sure I get all my questions answered.

My CO said that he is going to be gone the week of the 15th to go down to P-Cola and work on the board that makes the final decision on scholarships. Hope this helps.

I'm currently doing some OHARP duty and working on NROTC. I've been told that no one will know (except the Immediate Selects) until the final board meets. The deadline to have a complete online app is Jan 23rd (or right around that date). Then early Feb (around the 10th I think) is the final deadline to have everything in. From here the final selections will be made (with those turning their applications in earlier having the opportunity to get selected at the earlier boards). Once all of the selections have been made, then those that receive it will be notified. Not any earlier. So Feb would be the earliest that you should know.

The 4 evaluations should be contacted by both you and your recruiter. If you put their information online, the recruiter will see this and can send the information to the teacher via email. Of course you are also to take the form to the teacher as well. These can be done by the teachers online, on paper and mailed, or online and faxed in.

Also, if your ACT/SAT scores are on your official transcript, we don't need those sent from the testing company. We can input them from your transcript.

Good luck to all! And if you're in the NRD Kansas City area, complete your app! :)

The ROTC website makes it sound like they meet regularly between august and april and you will be notified as soon as they make a decision on you.

Are there a certain number of ISP's that each recruiter is allotted to hand out? After my interview my recruiter mentioned that I might be a candidate for it and he said he'd be in contact with me in the next week or so. Also, what schools are you guys applying to?

Thats what I was led to believe as well (no, still no word yet). But according to Random Guy we've still got a few more months of wait ahead. Can anyone confirm this info?

I may be wrong, but i heard somewhere that it was 10 ISD's per NRD X 31 NRD's = about 310 ISD's. Not sure on this one though.
