....That, and Brokeback Mountain!!!

And that's actually supposed to be a well-made movie. I don't have any problem at all with gay cowboys (I especially love how it makes all the sexually insecure people feel weird), but I do have a big problem with "Annapolis." From now on, any time I tell someone I went to school there, they will automatically assume that I went through an experience similar to whatever they portray in the movie. It will take two hours of argument to convince them they're wrong.

As an example of the common man's ignorance, a friend of mine told a guy that she was flying C-130s (which was true). His response, "I don't think the Navy has C-130s...are you sure?" No, you dumbass, she was mistaken about what she does for a f*cking living. Whoops.

People will hold on to the most retarded beliefs EVEN WITHOUT reinforcement from Hollywood. As soon as they make a movie about something, it takes about 12,000 calories of effort from your brain and your vocal chords to change someone's opinion - even though you were there. I'm sure SEALs don't even bother to explain how inaccurate THEIR movie was; at least it was somewhat positive.

As I said before, I'm hoping this damn movie at least puts things in a positive light even though it will be inaccurate.

By the way, if you attend this movie in uniform and I find out...I've got thirty rounds of 5.56mm with your name on them.

Not in writing, but I was a base-wide quarters today (china lake) and the PAO put it out. That's all.

This was put out in a safety stand down the other day in my neck of the woods, as well.

Brokeback Mountain? But I thought you just said that you love gay cowboys?

Heh heh. No, I give you props if you have the balls to see Brokeback Mountain; I haven't. I was threatening to name my bullets (used strictly for target practice) after anyone who sees "Annapolis" in uniform.

And another thing, gay cowboys really know how to dance. They'll teach your wife for free, and you don't have to feel jealous.

Friend's cousin of mine is gay. Funny guy, but he's ACTUALLY bi-sexual. Uses the "I'm gay, I'm safe with your girl" routine all the time, then makes a move. Works. Every. Time.

Which part, the uniform part or the PAO part? If it is legit (there's no NAVADMIN covering the subject), it's completely outrageous. Only a pinhead would think of something like this. It's as if the NY Times is going to unveil a grainy picture of some E-1 viewing the film in his crackerjacks at Rumsfeld's next press briefing and exclaim, "Ahhh Haaaa!!! The Navy does endorse this film, isn't that true, Mr. Secretary! Looks like we've caught you in your own web of lies, Mr. Secretary!" Give me a break. :sleep_125

That's disturbing, but funny. I'll give him this, that homo has got game.

There are not enough negative rep points in the galaxy to give that statement its appropriate response.

I'm sorry, I forgot an adjective. Top Gun is the Chuck Norris of cheesy Navy movies. If we're talking good Navy movies, I'd have to go with say, The Bridge At Toko-Ri(sp?).
