For all those API studs out there, how much weight does your PT factor into your overall grade. Thanks fellas

Very little. Unless you're johnny-I-have-to-be-number-one, don't worry about it as long as you pass.

Focus on the tests and having fun during your downtime.

PRT score plays into your final grade (dont ask me how) and you could call some of the swimming 'pt' I guess. Its nothing much to worry about. Go get a beer and read through your Aero pub.

Not worried about it just curious to how it was judged. Sure it would help me more than hurt me.:)

.....you don't get jets...the Navy gives them to you...

I had a pretty intense PRT training regimen at API...here are the highlights:

EDIT: Fly USMC's point is valid though...API don't matter...period...end of story.

It's judged with a stop watch and a buddy counting repetitions. You do your PRT early on and basically won't PT again in any serious way. At first my fellow Marines and I were shocked with how many of the Navy types maxed the sittups and push ups. That is until we realized that they had just stopped at the minimum passing number and then just watched as we continued to haze ourselves.

If you're gunning to be the API Top Gun, then there are usually 3 or 4 dudes that have a 98 academic average, in which case the PRT might be the tipping factor for the top dawg.

What happens if you don't pass the PRT?
You report the next day for Nuke School.

OK not really... they make you take it again every week for a couple of weeks... four is the max I believe... and beyond that I'm not sure. Don't do as many keg-stands if you're sweating it.
