The intent is not to do a reality-TV-confession-booth thing or to gossip about people's scores. My intent with this is to give those arriving a picture of what API is right now, and to hopefully give people a better understanding of what they're getting into. I found myself not knowing what to expect when I started, and it made me unnecessarily stressed out. I'm hoping that this day-by-day account will make some people rest easier. (...or reinforce that they should be stressed, I guess I'll find out!)

Just keep in mind that the Interwebs ain't anonymous and this site is full of people who own your ass to one degree or another, API and VT Instructors all the way up to CNATRA himself.

Nothing wrong with keeping a flight school blog (that's how AW started, after all). I'm just saying, if you at some point feel the need to talk shit ("LT so-and-so is an asshole"), be prepared to own your shit.

I've been on PRB's where the materials provided to the board included printouts of the PRB-ee's AW posts.

Fair warning.

Not planning on doing that, sir. I know enough to keep my mouth shut when it comes to LT so-and-so. My intention isn't to tell all about the drama of API, just what we do in class and what the differences are between what I heard on the way in and what the real gouge is.

You'll inevitably be seeing me in the next few weeks in classes, I'm sure. I promise not to let this get in the way of my studying! :D

Seriously, information is good; keep it flowing (let the end user decide if your gouge is worth his/her time). What you have so far is a good start. Keep it professional, and it will be a good tool for those who follow you.


*Yes, I am joking about that.

I'm not saying that I was losing sleep and tearing my hair out or anything...it just feels like the information I was getting was either out of date or was 'embellished'. I'm just trying to provide updated information, really.

As far as not knowing what to expect, I'm already getting used to that. Just trying to make things more illuminated for the up-and-comings.

I gotta smile at this one. It's all good when a fellow IP tells you that his studs mentioned your name in a deragatory way. Hey, if they can't tell me what's in the C rack or how to handle a fails to feather, at least they know my name! Training complete, right? RIGHT?!?
