I think you really want to know what a SOD is, not Sod*?

Back in the day, we had "Downs" as in downing a graded evolution such as a flight or simulator event. The PC world arrived and a down became Signal of Difficulty (SOD). Students or "studs" at FRS became "replacements", etc.

AW spam filter turns SOD -> Sod unless I type filler text. Thanks for the explanation (of SOD, not Sod)
