API check-in questions

I did a search but the info is 2 years old, so just wondering if it is still the same...
I am checking in on Friday to API, Dress Blues or Summer whites, I orginally thought blues but then I read on here whites. I was also told you can never go wrong with dress blues, but that was enlisted.

Base pass office, when does that close. I found one page that said 1530, but that seems early because I remember Norfolk office stayed open alittle later than that.

Thanks, any other info would be great too, excited to get down there and get started(actaully wait SNFO)

The uniform you report in depends on what time of the year it is... call the flight management office, or quarterdeck and ask.

Why would people get correct information directly from the source, when they can ask dudes on airwarriors that did it two years ago?

Ok, here is a little tip...anything you hear from someplace other than the direct source is just gouge and MAY be wrong...best idea would be to call Student Control down there...they have some ENS answering phones that should clear that up for you. If you don't want to do that then try calling a friend if you know one down here...if that won't work for you then ask whoever is doing / did your commissioning package, if they don't know they should be able to find out. IF all of those are too difficult for you then go ahead and check on here but use it as a back up only if you have the choice.

Concerning closing times for base offices, try to find the webpage for the base or possibly the phone directory (Phone Directory) for the base then call them direct and ask. If you found a time, even 1530 then go with that...each base is handled seperately and for some reason down here in Pensacola most base offices like to close a little earlier than 1600 (civilian run at least).

Totally agree. Way to many administrative questions are asked here. This is just a bunch of dudes, with a bunch of gouge, live by it, die by it.

Just remember, if you dress up you are always golden. No one is gonna say "hey look at this new guy who reported in whites/blues instead of khakis...what a moron" but you never wanna be the guy who shows up in khakis when the uniform is whites. I checked into API in September in whites and have seen a lot of guys check in wearing blues this winter.
