API texts?

I've been clearing out my room, preparing to move stuff home to make my move easier at the end of the year, and I found an old textbook called "Aerodynamics for Naval Aviators" that I used my freshman year. Question is, do you actually use this in API/Primary?? I just want to know, because if It is actually used, I'll keep it and maybe start reading it at some point. You know...give me something to do instead of AW.:D

BTW, anyone else getting a REALLY slow server on here?

while you won't use that book directly, it is part of the bib for the Aero book we use...I've got a copy myself that I've used a couple times to reference stuff, and to get a slightly different explaination for the concepts (nearly the exact same stuff...just expalined a little different). If you've got room for it, I'd say to bring it...if anything it makes a great paper weight and/or coaster...

Is it green and a softcover book? If so, I used one just like it in college. It's not necessary, I never even opened it while I was in API. Bring it if you have room, especially if you like to have more info than you really need.

Instead, go buy yourself an "I Believe Button", and use it frequently. The Navy will teach you exactly what you need to know and how you need to know it.

....I have kept all my API pubs with me, but the aero one is something that I actually reference quite a bit...most aviators would probably concur.
You're kidding, right???

That is one pub that NO ONE ever cracked ... and we all passed our AERO tests.... :) ... I've STILL got mine ... still never cracked it except to look at the pretty pictures.

As a SWO, I used Aero for Naval Aviators extensively while on the high seas. It's a great pub. I would follow the advice given thus far and learn every bit in it you can.

As a SWO, I used Aero for Naval Aviators....
*SIGH* ..... Q.E.D. ..... and I weep for the future of the Fleet ....
