API wait after IFS

I will finish my IFS at my unit, so when I check into P-cola, I will just be waiting to start API. Anyone know how long the wait is once you have completed IFS?

My husband completed IFS mid November and is starting api mid march. He is a SNFO.

From what ive seen, you can expect between a 2-3 month wait before api. I finished IFS Jan 17 and I still dont know when I class up. I'm SNFO btw. So enjoy your time off while in A-pool and get the pubs if you can. It gives you something to read while youre taking a dump.

I waited 3 months...but that was back from the guys who came in summer with a very large backlog...i guess things are moving quicker now

If I don't class up by March 17th, it wont be any faster than when you went through. But then again, I'm enjoying my time OHARPin' it in sunny San Diego. Boo Yah!

I checked in last Monday and for SNAs that have completed IFS estimate "3-4 months" before classing up. Realize that these numbers can change within the matter of hours. If a call comes in for a larger class on the next API start date, then you may move up a spot or two. Rumors are that SNFOs have a longer wait time as it stands now. Maybe all the way out to 6-7 months.

The wait for NFOs was 6 months now it is 7 months no matter if you did IFS at your unit or down here. A guy from my unit who did IFS before he came down here and reported to API in August still hasn't classed up. Enjoy the wait or go get a cool stash job somewhere.

There is virtually no wait for Marine SNFOs, and a 4-6 month wait for USMC SNAs... I graduate TBS on 16 March, and have an approximate class-up date of 20 August. P-cola beach beckons...

Easy there Scotty, don't get too excited...you will find that a lot of things change once you get down here, namely your classup date...unless you are starting "next week" don't place too much stock in the specific date...mine changed about eight times in the 3 months before I started...

I just spoke with the detailer today and according to him the backlog for API is a little over a month right now and come June it should be only a few weeks. Since I am coming from grad school it might be they are trying to get me in sooner but take it for what it's worth. Also, he did say that the waits could change but that's what it should be this summer.

Right now the wait is:
6-7 mos for SNFO
3-4 mos for SNA
That's for the Navy. From what I hear Marine SNFO's are classing up immediately and Marine SNA's are waiting 3-4 mos.

I got here the beginning of August and am classing up this month...that is a 7 month wait.

I was intially told when checking in that it would be about a 3-4 week wait, so it makes you wonder if the wait now will increase even more. Oh well, you can really work on your golf game.

That is for a SNFO.

I heard that there was a large contingent of SNFO's that came the same time as me.

Why is that Navy SNFO are taking so long? Is it because they got rid of the F-14 and S-3 or is there just that many SNFOs? No seriously I am just asking.
I don't have to wait for API or IFS (if they are still doing it for NFOs) but I have at least a 3-6 mo wait for TBS, just can't game the system.
