So I originally laughed and scrolled by this article.
Then my wife and I were talking about it over coffee this morning, and discussed gender fluidity, age fluidity and the military.
If we are starting to pretty much take anyone and everyone, why are we discriminating against older applicants? Are we truly as old as we feel? Could you successfully argue to change your age in this country and then use that new age to apply for an age restricted spot?
I fly/flew around kids in VT’s and in VP land who are in waaay less physical condition than my old crippled ass, so why not truly apply the “physically/mentally qualified” rubric to entrance requirements, vice a random age requirement?
I think it would open the accessions gate to more qualified applicants who may have thousands of hours in regionals and have heard enough sea stories from vets and want to join...
