Anyone recently got picked up for Navy pilot through NROTC service selection or other wise? I took the ASTB last fall for the first time and scored 5's and am just wondering if I should retake it to try score higher before service selection in the fall?

I think it would depend on the other aspects of your package, i.e. GPA, major, and your rank within your class. Also, ask your service selection LT if he/she knows what formula they're currently using, b/c that may be a factor for you. I have a buddy who got pilot w/ 5's and is graduating in a week. Seems like 5's is definitely on the low end of the spectrum though. If you didn't prepare for the test very much, you may consider preparing and studying for it and then retaking it.

Yea I think it also depends on your GPA and overall aptitude, however, I got 6 6 5 49 with a 3.01. As far as I know you just have to take it and pass it. I know people who got the same thing as you and got a pilot slot. Also depends on the needs of the navy. GOOD LUCK!

Samsonite... I was WAY off!!
That's right. I think it also depends on what they have during that specific board... I got a 6/7/6 47 with a 3.29 GPA and I just got pro-rec'd for SNA. However, my recruiter was saying a guy he sent in the board before had 7's and 8's with a high GPA and got a non-select so I think it all depends on the needs of the Navy at that time...

i just got my scores back with 5/6/5 49... i have a 3.2gpa and 150 civilian hours. my LT said that my scores are good but he doesn't think they are competative... i don't know though, i'm in complete limbo about retaking the test. does anyone know how much weight the civilian hours hold? also, i served as vice president of sga for a year so do you think that would also carry a lot of weight?
