ASTB vs. ASVAB?

I've been talking to a navy officer recruiter to try and get into the BDCP program and he said that I need to take the ASTB test, but from what I've seen this test is mostly for people that want to be pilots or am I wrong? Is it just issued to everyone applying to become an officer and people wanting to be pilots have and extra section? Do you think he could have mistaken it with the ASVAB or is that just something completely different? Sorry for the trouble I just want to study for the right test. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks

DO NOT question your recruiter, especially in the beginning stages. It's his job and he's probably good at it.

Different communities have to take more of the test than others. Welcome aboard but be sure to search a lot before posting a new thread

Good muster guys.
ASTB = ANY Officer Applicant

ASVAB = Enlisted Applicants

Make your choice. Your recruiter does make mistakes but you should trust him unless you have a legitimate reason not to. He is 100% on here. Make sure when you do research you are more thorough.

Afterburner has it correct. You WILL need to take the ASTB in order to get into Officer Candidate School via BDCP. Study in order to do well on the test.
