ATSB and the Marine Corps

Hi, I just recently took the ASTB and passed with 6/6/7 60. I'm not sure exactly what the cutoffs were, but I believe a 5 was in there somewhere. I'm going down to Pensacola some time this week before shipping out to Marine OCS.

I hope I pass the physical. I'd like to fly the F35B's when they hit.

I think that is the min for NFO, I believe Pilot is lower.

Actually I think the NFO requirements are lower, at least thats what I recall reading from the Barron's test prep book. I could be incorrect.

Btw I don't want to boast, but I've been screaming for someone to tell this to that would understand its significance (I'm one of maybe 2 people on my campus that are going Marines) but I just got my ASTB scores back, 9/9/8 :)

Look'n forward to OCS this may

Congrats on those scores, and to a greater extent to your selection for OCS.

Could have possibly been that my OSO wanted a higher score to put me through. Had 5's and tried to get 1pt waiver for NFO, but you could only get it after taking the test twice. I've since decided to go the PRK route, sometime late FEB or March and try for pilot.

Sure it's not one of these?

I swear to god Phrogdriver... I'm very good with math and concepts, but when I looked at that picture of the 3kg block on the curved ramp question, I just about ruined my trousers. I had no idea how to solve it, and I was like no way could that be on the test.

So... upon realizing it, and understanding clearly, that 3kg will never penetrate an elephant in the way, I relaxed, nodded your way and belted out a hearty Touche!

Nicely done.

Howdy guys, new here. I just heard back from my OSO that I made a 6/6/7 on mine. I felt GREAT about everything except the aviation and naval terminology section, I thought I completely bombed that part. I studyed quite a bit but deffinately not enough in that area. I am hoping to go to PLC (10 week) this summer but it doesnt look like thats going to happen due to all the processing taking so long. I still need to take my PFT. I am a bit apprehensive about it but I have been training hard since I decided to do this in January so I am confident I will pass.

Wait so is the ASTB the same thing is the Written Air Test or not? Or is it something different?
