As far as I know they still offer DA if you are within one year of graduation. Hopefully this is still true

That's what I thought, and then my OR told me the new rule is 6 months from graduation, so he said he was putting me in for BDCP. I looked online to see if I could find anything official on it... the only other thing I found was the same thing on the NY OR's blog.. but like I said.. it's not official. My OR has never been wrong, though. So, either he's wrong for the first time, or this is a new rule.

Hmmm, in the manual (Chp 2, section 5) it states that you need to HAVE your degree before applying. Can't find anywhere where this is stated differently, or where the six months comes up. :-/

Might be that the rule means you cannot recieve a FS until your degree is finished, and 6 months gives a month or two for application prep, another 2 for submit and response from the board, and the rest for FS processing.

Lucy is right, I was told that you must have your Degree finished before you can submit. I think they used to allow early submissions, but now you have to go BDCP. I'm sure there might be circumstances where the OCS processors here in Millington allow it, but not very often.

My situation is definitely not the norm, but I literally just took my last exam today. I spent my last semester on exchange in Australia, but my diploma is going to be back dated to May since I finished during the spring semester in America, but the fact that the semesters are on different calendars here vs America because of the seasons being backwards means that I finished a month later (because we also started 5 weeks later), and my graduation will not actually get processed until my grades from here are received by my home university. Am I going to be able to apply? I am done, and getting my diploma is a formality at this point, but I do not think my transcript will reflect my graduation by the time it has to be sent to the August boards, although technically I will have graduated in May when it does come through. I really hope a technicality like this will not keep me out of the running (I certainly cannot do BDCP considering I am finished with my bachelors).

I would have your OR submit it (if he will). You can attach a letter from your school to your package explaining your situation and verify that you have completed all the requirements and paid all of your tuition. If you get your transcripts before the board convenes then send them in.

I'm at home right now, so I don't have the exact number on SWO options and AMDO, but I know they are not taking any SWO conventional this year. Supply had the most slots available after pilot so that's probably your best chance. I will check those numbers for you on Thursday. Are you a P-3 guy? What squadron?

Yeah, it's true. You definitely feel more confident the more you go through. I was pretty prepared in the beginning, having gone through Sailor of the quarter/year boards prior to these interviews.

Awesome, I'm in the per diem Navy myself (VP-47). Are you up for the ERB? It's not looking good for us enlisted aviation guys! Hopefully I get picked up for OCS before I get PTS'd out.
