Ummm, 1W2g... blah blah blah (You have a complicated username) as a former Air Force Officer who has now seen the light and is transferring in to the Corps shortly--I will say this in the AF's defense--they're going back to normal (non-bike) PFTs. LOL. And by the way, you'll spend most of your time around other officers as a brand new 2LT, 1LT and even as a young Capt--so opportunities for leadership positions are few and far between as a flyer. Your sphere of influence is VERY limited. When you become a Maj or LtCol, you can go for the Squadron Ops O position and lead young pilot types that way---so ease up on the officer, pilot thing---concentrate on your studies, so you can get your chance to prove yourself where it counts in the immediate future--TRAINING.

I'd be willing to bet that if someone has the drive and is willing to go through what it takes to be a Marine they don't really need to concern themselves with the whole Marine/Officer first thing. It seems like they already understand the importance of being a Marine. The forum is about flying so there is nothing wrong with having concerns about things other than Marine Corps.
