Just when I get all riled up (sp?) about some BS on AW and ready to spread a wide flame are, Gatordev is here to save me. Marines and are not the same as us; just accept it an move on.

For you LT's that get bent out of shape because some ENS gives you the head nod....get over it. Get your ass back to work and shut the fvck up. If you have a problem with my advice, please contact my supervisor at your earliest convenience. Oh wait, nevermind....I don't have a supervisor anymore. Oh geez, I crack myself up.

I'll just chime in here and affirm what has already been said - it's definitely doable. I had a buddy and fellow IP at NASWF who took MCAT's and applied to USUHS and was accepted.

Once he was accepted he had PCS orders easily within a month - he had to resign USN commission and be recommissioned as an ENS in MC. Last I heard he left the Nav and was a pediatrician in New York somewhere and happily doing the reserves thing.

I don't know what kind of preference USUHS gives you based on past service. My buddy kicked butt on the MCAT's though and I remember him studying in the Stan office for hours on end between flying 2 or 3 x's per day.

The fact that the military would pay you to go to Med school after letting you fly for 5 or 6 years is amazing - and just goes to show you that with a little effort, the good deals are always to be found if you have the talent.

No where else in civi life do those things occur.
 
I'm glad to know that it's possible. I like to keep my options open and my goals high. It seems like that would be quite a deal if I can make it happen. But I'm not too worried about it now, as I don't even have a commission yet. Must finish that step first.
