Does any here know where to get the Belleville jungles with the EGA on the side. I had the unfortunate pleasue of being issued the Bates jungles which turned green(from tan to green go figure) in the Quigley, and the IMC didn't help them either. I did't get the scars Crowbar speaks of but humps were always bad, because boot of the day would be the Bates and so it sucked.

I have the same problem with my jungles they issued me at OCS. They turned green the first time they got wet and tore my feet to pieces every time I wore them. I think I only wore them maybe 7-8 times and only when my ICB's were soaked. I didn't even know there was a different brand you could buy, are they available at TBS?

Does anybody have a model number for ICB's? I've consistently heard that I should wear them every chance I get. I was leaning toward jungles b/c their lighter, but not now. Do all the candidates have to have the same style boots on for PT, or is it every man using his preference?

Be careful with the jungle boots. I remember a bunch of candidates wore their jungles for some event (I can't remember which one). PT events were the only events you could wear the jungles. Anyways, we went immediatly to chow and the jungles looked like a$$. This singled those candidates out with the staff. They ended up having to write a 300 word essay, only 5 letter words count and need to be underlined, on why their boots need to be polished and look presentable(It might have been a different topic, I can't remember). Remember that the majority of candidates will be wearing the issued boots. My advice is to suffer with the boots you get issued, keep your feet dry, and wear some good socks. Good Luck

...panty hose

....this may sound strange but buy about 8 or 10 pair of the little footy panty hose. The kind that fit up over the ankle. They are real cheap and they work great to prevent blisters. My son used them at OCC 184 and said they worked great.....he had no problems with blisters. Good luck to all of you candidates!

i heard the Bates Ultra Light were good boots. are you guys saying they suck? My OSO told me the only authorized boots were Bates ultra lights, and High Tech Magnum. I have a pair of black jungle boots those gave me a few blisters at mini ocs, but i plan on wearing the nylon socks and boot socks with powder. should i be good to go with that?

Those are the black jungles if I am not mistaken. Those are good if you don't need traction, but for events like o-course you will need the MARPAT Bates (or ICB) that you get issued. I had to suck it up on pt because the ICBs were the inspection boots and the bates jungles were pt boots. So when we had a pt event right before an inspection then I would have to wear the bates for pt and the ICB for inspection. Confused? hope not.
