I'm making GIF ad banners at my internship right now...I'm tempted to make one out of this and hand it to my boss...see what he says...:p.

I tried doing the same after the Dec CQ, and no luck.

So did the King Kat improve you deck spotting skills?

Most definitely. I think I came out 2/5 on the bets. Boltered first hook down pass so I lost two right there. FML.

HJ,

Wow, thanks for the pics. Anytime I ever walked out on the flight deck during a wx day like in those pics, I knew I had the best job in the world: the bright sunshine that hits you as you stepped out onto the starboard catwalk from the 0-3 level hatch, the feeling of the warm breeze as you climb the ladder up to the flight deck, the familar feel/weight of your flight gear as you take your "studly" visor down walk across 4 and half acres of American steel to "your" jet (courtesy of course of the U.S. Navy and the US taxpayer...). It never, ever got better than that. I hope you JOs and guys/gals that are just getting started don't forget to appreciate every single step along the way. It's over waaaay too soon....

So who was in 156 about to go for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride?

Holy Crap thats me! If you look closely I went with the aviators and clear visor haha nice. It started out as a joke but I prefered it to the tinted visor. Anyway Qualed 22 Feb boat completer.

Where are the pictures of the SDOs working, can't seem to find those...

BTW, you are not wearing the aviators in the pic...

Actually he is wearing aviators. I'll be. I did that once because I didn't want to change visors for a night flight. It worked but I liked the feel of just the clear visor better.

Does anyone know who to contact about photos of flight ops? I emailed navy visual news and asked them but have not got a response. I'd like to see if they had any of the jet I was in. Is there someone else I could contact?

J

The ship's photographers (MC) send a selection of photos to CHINFO where they post them on the Navy Newsstand so the mother lode is at the Ship. Looking at the images, it was one photographer responsible (Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Torrey W. Lee) and my advice would be to contact him directly (should be in global) and/or contact the ship's PAO via its website.

My LSOs thought it was hillarious, plus I was hoping it would distract them from the AR position in... seemed to work, I got top hook in my squadron.... Not bad considering I had 6 bolters the first day :eek:flew rails the second, Reagan is a little tricky (although I don't have much to compare it to, I would have caught 4 wires on the first day...if they existed:D).
