I did Color Guard most of the time and was a Twirler for one semester.

Yes, that's right, I twirled a baton... anyone who laughs will get their a$$ kicked! :)

When i was in band, we had some serious hotness in the guard. So cheers to guard girls and twirlers!! :D

You are a female, so this is acceptable. If you were a male, we would probably have some serious issues :D

Plus, I looked cute in the little outfit. ;)

While male twirlers are the pinnacle of non-manly-ness (the antithesis of, say, drum line), male color guard often ROCK. Yes, they can be fruitier than a nutcake, but SO talented. I saw a guy do a rifle routine to "Danger Zone" from Top Gun - I know, I know, but stay with me here - that was freaking amazing.

Why, thank you, Fezz. I'll take this opportunity to lump myself in with the "hotness." :)

Good luck drumnum... sounds like you get the best of all the worlds, college, DCI, and a commission.

I rolled them all into one, eight years of tuba/sousaphone, then four years of contra for the USNA D&B.

I held a tuba my junior year in high school. Note, I didn't say play a tuba. I can't play a lick of music on anything, let alone a tuba. My only purpose was to keep in step and look good. While everyone else learned their steps to the music, I counted. Kind of like painting by numbers. Anyway, it got me in good with the girls on the color guard.
