Just spitballing here, but why not fly for the Austrian Air Force? Eurofighter Typhoon is a pretty good ride, and the path to entry seems a lot smoother.

Well, tbh i don't want to sit in Zeltweg (Austrian AFB), a small town in the middle of the mountains, for 15 yrs of my life, and also: The austrian military, especially the Air Force branch, is chronicly underfunded. I also wanna try to eventually become a test pilot one day, which is basically impossible in Austria. And btw, Austria doesn't have any aircraftcarriers :)

Working for a chronically underfunded service in a small town in the middle of the mountains, you say?

Yea. The beer is worse in the american shithole.
I don't think you're nearly as much of a beer snob as you're holding yourself out to be if you actually believe that. For all that AB and company have been desperately trying to buy out and slay craft beer for the past 10 years (which they have), if you think pisswater is the only thing you can get in most places anymore, I've got a bridge in Arizona to sell you. I've gotten very decent beer in Fayettenam, NC, and even had way too much Firestone in Lemoore (long story). So I submit you can get decent beer damn near anywhere.

Provincialism stinks no matter which side of the aisle it's on.

I live in craft beer Mecca. It was a joke.

I still overwhelmingly prefer reinheitsgebot beers to whatever mocha double 90 minute nitro choco frappa bullshit soap-tasting IPA the nearest hipster in a man bun and flannel is trying to push, but that’s just me. Luckily, living in beer heaven there’s no shortage of German beer, or any other kind for that matter.

Pils. Kolsch. Stout. Porter. Wheat. Lager in a pinch. 3 ingredients and the possibilities are endless and delicious.
