Best navy platform for commercial pilot pathway?

Hello, I am new to the site and am currently Navy enlisted, I plan on putting in an OCS package this year. My question is which Navy platform, if any, is the best for setting up a career as a commercial pilot?

From current airline recruitment trends, In priority order:

Tacair (E/F-18, F-35)
Multi engine Fixed wing (P-8, E-6, E/C-2 E/P-3 C-12)

Tilt-rotor (CV-22)

Helicopters

The biggest factor in airline recruitment for military folks is fixed wing flight currency. It’s absolutely critical to be flight current leaving the military flying fixed wing aircraft to go directly to the majors. If you end up leaving non fixed wing flight current expect to spend 6-36 months (depending on background) at a regional before you can reasonably expect to be at a major.

Flying backwards is a big deal now? Why not fly a jet that can fly backwards?
Single engine powered lift in your logbook is even worse than UAV hours.

(Start the rumor and see how long it takes to come back to you!)

If I could relive my military life...here’s what I would do.

Enlist in the air guard after High school. Go to college (with or without the unit’s help) get a pilot slot with that guard unit.
Finish flight school, fly for about a year on orders to build time...go to a regional for the part 121 check in the block... Take mil leave and Get activated and rack up as many hours and quals as I could. Apply to the majors.
I can’t think of a better way. you get the mil to pay for it, you get part 121 experience, and you can go between the guard and the regionals.
If times are slow (or shitty) in RJ land, you get some orders...if life sucks at the unit for whatever reason, go back to the RJ.

That’s what I would tell 18 year old me.

Absolutely. This. One hundred percent. Maybe 95%, with 5% saying to go the Coast Guard route and bail after 10.

Single engine, amateur-built, 85 hp piston is the best way. I get offers from almost every major US air carrier every month. Of course, those offers are for their credit cards, but they are offers, right?

The worst is when the apps are in and you get emails from XYZ airline thinking “THIS IS MY INTERVIEW INVITE!” Only to find it’s a sale or frequent flyer offer
