I sense what you're trying to do and I commend you for it. It reminds me of a 'brain bomb" I had 45 years ago. Underway, enroute to Yankee Station on first combat tour, I decided to keep a daily log describing all aspects of each sortie (what, where, how, with who, defenses, BDA, unusual happenings, etc.). Cumshawed a large SDO type log book, and started OK for the first ~2 weeks, though nodding off in the middle of entries became a problem. Following week, tempo ratcheted up, and started missing entries due to fatigue and workload ground & flight. Week four, a couple of sloppy entries then the log went into storage in prep for first armed invasion of the storied Cubi 'O' Club & 'Po City.
The log never again reared it's ugly head. It had become log vs my safety. The end!
I would love to have those completed log(s) today to pass down to my descendents, and could really have helped when writing the TINs & "There I was ..." stories, many year's later...BUT, c'est la 'guerre!
Monsieur Birdman, you may reach this point once you get heavy into study/flying, not to mention the occasional G &T. plus liberty. Blog too? Keep your eyes on the gold prize...
Priorities!
