Soooo can we just buy the freakin' thing already? Something is better than nothing at this point.
We will continue to fly 50 year old aircraft.
I have a buddy that flew both the A320 and the 737 (C-40), surprised me by saying he preferred the Airbus. Said it was just a better plane overall.
As for Airbus winning, with so few American defense contractors left I am happy to see some more competition, even if it does come from a European (not just French) conglomerate. May the best plane win........even if it isn't American.
Boeing is hardly without sin in all this. If it hadn't tried to screw the government with a ripoff lease deal, then the backlash wouldn't have existed to reopen the proposals.
Uhhhhh ... negative: the most recent B767 delivery took place 02-26-2010.Both companies submitted bids using airframes that are fairly old ... the 767 production line has been down for awhile ...
Ditto -- my last checkout was on 'da BUS as I wanted to go back to Motherland-Mainland to close it out. But when I got a 'feel' for 'da BUS and some of the weenies I'd have to deal with while flyin' it ... opportunity knocked and I was able to stay on the WHALE.I have the choice to fly either the 767 or A330. I'm sticking with the Boeing. It's a great plane.
