Make sure your OSO is staying on them, but there isn't much you can do really. I turned all my paperwork in Feb 2010 and didn't get a commission date because I was waiting on BUMED until Christmas 2010... So that might give you an idea of what you're looking at. My commission date got pushed back 9 months because of it but you can't really complain. I was told there is one guy doing all the paperwork somewhere, and it takes forever.

I don't mean to be a smartass (ok, I do, but just a little bit): The only way to speed up the process is to have some patience and a life. You can't keep bugging your OSO, because he may just bitch slap you for getting in his shit. His job is to process you and your paperwork, not clear you medically. If he has done his due diligence and submitted your package to the black hole that is BUMED or NAMI, you have to sit back, have a coke and a smile and STFU. When the OSO receives your package back and it's in your favor, fucking rock on! If not, you tried and that's nothing to be ashamed of. If perchance you have some crazy punk card that might trump BUMED/NAMI's decision, you should be using it right now. If you don't, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it will be hard to reverse. Either way, good luck guys. Find something to keep you busy in the meantime to help keep you distracted.
