Mongol General: ...Conan, what is best in life?
Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!
Mongol General: That is good.

Ouch! There is truth to that, almost all of the TBS pubs are on the website that kimphil just noted. If I was back in your shoes, the professional development section has a lot of good gouge. MCDP-1 is one of the first books you are expected to read, it is also online. If you can get a copy of the Marine Officer’s guide, it is something I wish I had to read before reporting in. The uniform reg site has a lot of gouge for whenever you can’t remember if it was 2-3” or 2-4”... https://www.mol.usmc.mil/System/TFAS/Login.asp is another site you will find of interest at some point.
Here are another couple of sites to take a gander at.

Whatever the case, it is better to ask the stupid questions now, the further along you get the higher the expectations are.

War were declared.
Thanks for the gouge BigWorm! Do any other Marine Officers out there have anything they would recommend reading before reporting to TBS? I know Farkle and I, and many others waiting for TBS would appreciate it.

I was going to add one more book to the list. BOYD. I went to a Marine Aviation Association meeting back in Feb, and a Major General recommended it. As far as OCS/TBS, he was the guy that gets credit for the OODA loop. He was an Air Force fighter pilot that was hated by his own service. At his funeral, there was one Air Force officer, and a bunch of Marines. I am half way through it, good examples of a principled man, and some examples of what not to do as an officer.
I gave it to my dad as a fathers day present (retired Navy captain, former F-4 NFO) – he said it will give you some good insight into how the politics work once you start climbing in rank.
