not leave

Nick-

Those are not leave days they are the authorized travel days from SD. It is based on mileage. Your leave is figured out through you COC. Hope that helps.
Google travel pay:

Mileage Allowance in Lieu of Transportation (MALT) Plus Flat Rate Per Diem is authorized for PCS travel between permanent duty stations via temporary duty stations by POV. This is not to be confused with local area travel, nor with regular per diem, as previously discussed.

Members are granted MALT at $0.15 per mile for the entire authorized travel distance. Mileage between duty stations can be found in the Official Table of Distances (OTD).

Flat rate per diem is $86 per day and is payable for each day of authorized travel time. POV travel time is computed by dividing the mileage between the two duty stations by 350, and rounding up any remainder of 51 miles or more. For example, the official distance from Norfolk, VA to San Diego, CA is 3150 miles. The MALT Plus computation is:
Travel time:
3150/350 = 9 days

Flat Per Diem:
9 days @ $50 = $450.00

MALT: 3150 * $0.15 = $472.50

TOTAL DUE:
$922.50

Take it from a guy who graduated in November from OCS. If you show up on Saturday, great. You're not scoring any kind of bonus points whatsoever. If you choose to stay the night there (@ OCS), your indoc begins immediately. Dumb move.

Go get your stuff stamped and then either go get a hotel room or stay @ the BOQ. ...and like everyone else has said, enjoy that last night, cause it'll be a while before you do that again. (Although, checking with later classes, seems like they're going a little 'soft' and letting most classes secure on RLP these days... but there I go getting ahead of myself... nothing to see here, move along. :p)

sarnav,

Is there anyway to get more leave days then that? I found out I'll be in the March 24 class and I'm still waiting for my orders to be cut, and I'm going from San Diego.

I had to go to my OSO to pick up my orders en route of driving down to FL. Keep in mind I was in BDCP for over 2 years. Just call your OSO... repeatedly now since you are almost within a week.

Check in between 1000 and 1200 on Sunday. Any earlier and you're only helping the candio's on indoc staff. They'll tell you that you're late but it doesn't really matter. We had a guy show up at 0200 Monday because the airport was essentially closed due to fog and an out-of-service ILS.
