Interesting how this is starting to get way off topic.... but I gotta add my 2 cents...
2 things said by Winchester94 I find a little troubling...
I am also a Catholic and have never been "encouraged" to drink. In fact, any priest will tell you that drunkenness is clearly a sin (It is an abuse of the body God has given you. Furthermore, how can you truly love God without a clear mind?) But, like R_mojo, I was never discouraged from drinking. Most drinking attributed to Catholics has more to do with culture than religion (eg, a friend's family is Irish and fundamentalist, they still drink very heavy. Of course I am not implying the the Irish are drunks!
Just that it is not necessarily an issue of religion.)
Second, "there is a big difference in what we are taught"?! As Christians, we all believe about 90% the same. We all believe that Christ is the Son of God. He was born of the Virgin Mary. He died for our sins and that through him we have salvation. I think, with where the world seems to be headed, it is far more important for us Christians to focus on our many similarities then our few differences </rant>
Sorry about that, just had to get that one off my chest... maybe this should go to the War Room, lol. Anyway, we are all soon to be part of the great brother/sisterhood that is the United States Navy, we are all on the same team regardless of our beliefs!
