nkawtg, are you in the RNLAF? If so, how did you find this forum? (Curious). My father is originally from Amsterdam, and served as a mechanic in the Technische Dienst back in the day. Let me know what's up!

When I served on the staff of Commander, Naval Forces Euorpe, I learned the Dutch Marines have a very good reputation.

THe Dutch have the second oldest Marine Corps in the world. Right behind The British Royal Marines. I used to know a few Royal Marines when I lived in England and they hold their Dutch counterpart in high regard.
 
Dutch Marines in Iraq.

There were last year. Al Muthana.
They were deployed for almost a year, then the regular army took over.
Right now we are deployed in Afghanistan (RNLMC/RNLA/RNLAF) in ISAF.
 
Marines the world over typically have a good reputation.

ROK Marines are also highly regarded, as are Thai Marines, as well as others.
 
Had some relation with ROK Marines during Ulchi Focus Lens. I was impressed.
