I did my initial CQ on board Coral Sea in 1972. Below is a photo of some of the VF-121 (the F-4 RAG at the time) instructors and studs on the LSO platform as we pulled out of NAS Alameda and steamed south. ....

Any idea of what ever happened to Dave Baker (Bluto) in the photo? He was my RO once upon a time, but I've lost track of him ever since.

Never saw him again after I left VF-121 in February of '73

Thanks. Nor did I ever see him later.

I think his family had a big ranch in Montana, and I always supposed he left the Nav to run the ranch.

Good guy. He taught me the ropes in WestPac – in the air and on the beach. Kept me out of trouble, (sort of, ) too.
