Its really a case of apples of oranges. They're both different.
Corpus has Austin/San Antonio, better weather (minus the hellfire inferno that is june-august), and padre island. Padre island beats anything Pensacola has to offer as far as living for a flight student. Its alot cheaper, almost every house is on the water thanks to the canals on every street, and its 20 minutes or less to work. Prior to the advent of uber, it was almost impossible to get cabs to/from padre so night life was limited by sober drivers or the best dive bar in all of flight school (the pelican aka the dirty bird). You also have to deal with the odd mix of shoeless hippies and texas locals.
Pensacola has Nola and Pensacola beach (best beach in CONUS ). Better nightlife and places to eat, although it does get old quick. You definitely have more options on places to live. You also have to deal with locals in what is essentially alabama.
If you go helos, corpus then pensacola is a nice combo. If you go jets and go corpus you have a solid chance of spending all of flight school in south texas...
